I am sorry your friend broke up with you due to your political views. My views differ from your but perhaps your friend will change her mind if you were to apologize for the “tone” in your statements….? One thing with online is that you cannot fully edit for “tone” so it’s an item to be mindful of….

Well…I have a different approach to my blog, and one I’ve been growing in success with…I am hoping to share Christ with as many people as I can. And not just people who need to know Him for the first time, but also people, like ME, who need that extra little bit of hope knowing that Someone out there loves me. All the time. Forever. And always.
My blog is on Wordpress and I really do like it. But Wordpress seriously needs to fix their free templates because they are a BORE.
I am IN LOVE with your talents.
And I need a little pick me up to my boring drab blog that does NOT in ANY way reflect my personality! I’m a HAPPY kind of girl!
And I do have Facebook…. ;0)

Hi Heather!
I WANT a Girly Blog Design because:
Your designs are awesome, and I don’t have the budget for anything right not.
I NEED to get one of my websites producing an income so I can continue to stay at home with my kids.
I HAVE self hosted wordpress for my blogs, I use free themes, and muster up whatever html knowledge that I can get to make appropriate adjustments, but want something that is really “me”.
Thanks for an awesome contest Heather!

Heather I am so excited that you are doing this. I have been trying to hire you for a design and then that had to be put on back burner until the budget allows.
I have a few self hosted WP Blogs and some have never had the pleasure of being designed by an awesome professional like yourself, they had to settle for me tweaking a free layout and that is not saying much.
I am heading over to your Facebook group right now and I am pretty sure I am going to blog about this because this is way cool;)

WOW… your designs are incredibly gorgeous… I absolutely LOVE them and would really love to have you design my blog. Which is brand spanking new. I have a bunch of blog posts all stored up in my head… and nothing to put them on. I can’t honestly say I NEED to have a custom designed blog (I seem to have done fine without one so far)… but I really REALLY want one. What can I say… I can write, I can post pictures, I can sew, I can knit, I can cook a mean pot roast. Design a blog? Not so much. I just registered http://www.vanillaontheside.com... but if you click, no blog. It’s just waiting for you. :) Why “vanillaontheside”? Because my husband always orders everything “with vanilla on the side”. I just assume he’s referring to me. :)

My nine year old daughter, Elly, has a website called “Ask Miss Elly”. She’s an awesome girl, clever and witty…
Her blog is now receiving the attention of her teachers at school and now her friends are reading it.
Her birthday is in November and I would love nothing more than to surprise her with a new template design custom made to fit her personality.
I can’t afford to do it for her right now. It would be a gift to both of us.
What an awesome contest. Good luck everyone!

why I need to WIN:
I have spent the last 2 months trying to figure out how to create my own and WHEW! way over my head.
I recently was hired by a company to do a job from my home, but one of the requirements is to have a blog to help promote their company on tons of scrapbooking sites and if they connect to my blog that’s “jobs” for you in the long run, so this would be a win, win!
I have good ideas but need to learn how to put them on screen!
I would so love, love, love to win!

Jennifer says:
Ohh I am so excited I saw you on Mom Pack! Out of all the emails I received yours was the best!
I need a new blog because mine is very borning. I already paid for a WP design that was a tad overpriced and what I got was a boring blog that is not very functional. My husband would kill me if I spent more money especially since this economy has already closed up one dealership he was at (my dads) and we are hoping this one stays open since I stay at home with our three little kids 5,3,1.
I never win anything so I would love to win especially being that is something I truly need and want :)
Thanks for the opportunity to enter this contest!

HR Sherpa is offering a new service and launching Tasteful Terminations- an easier way to let go. My skills are in the HR arena-not website developnet and marketing. It would be awesome to get the opprotunity to work with you on this project. Nobody likes to work with the firing and termination services of people but when done with dignity and respect everyone sleeps better. The art of being nice will never go out of style.

Phyllis says:
Why would I like to win this?
I purchased a domain name and set up a blog for my 10 year old daughter who is slowly following in her moms footsteps. She will be blogging about celebrity teens, from the “tween” perspective. I believe that she is learning early on the power that writing can hold, not only for others but for herself. I would love to be able to present this to her because I know in my heart that she would truly appreciate it and love knowing that she has a custom design that is perfect for her. Her blog is currently a wordpress.org blog. On a side note, my husband was in construction, the sole provider, and has been laid off, so I can’t afford to have something made for her and this would really make both myself and my daughter grateful.
I am currently on Twitter, to which I will share this information, as well as Facebook, and my babyswags blog.
Thanks for the opportunity, what ever the outcome, you create beautiful templates.

Why I need this:
This blog is our only source for income. My husband has lost his job because the state has cut back on funding for programs (he worked for a company that handled developmentally disabled clients).
We also have newborn twins (they are 3 months old).. which is killing us expense wise. We had some money set aside but we needed to use it all for a surgery that our son needed right after he was born.
Thank you so much for this opportunity. I wish everyone good luck :)

Wow, you are amazing! I love your work, and also your philosophy of sharing your talents in these troubled times.
Why do I need to win?
I used to blog for a wonderful national wedding site (Weddingbee) and now, post-wedding, am still part of a closely knit community of other wedding bloggers and readers. But my sad Typepad template — without even a banner! — is a poor, poor cousin to the impressive designs of my talented blogging sisters. Would love to move to Wordpress, but I don’t know design and am terrified of taking that first step.
And on the personal sob story front, having a professional blog means the world to me because blogging is all I have at the moment. I’ve been disabled by illness for several years, and blogging gives my days structure and provides the rare opportunity to still contribute a bit of thought and creativity to the world….
Thanks!

I HAVE to win your “Super Fabulous Wordpress Design Giveaway” because I have an amazing idea for a blog that needs an even more amazing design to make it perfect.
The name and idea for the blog is done and I want so badly to get started. I even have two followers with me just writing a test article. But I just can’t get started until I have the blog designed.
There are all of these words and ideas just busting to get out of me onto my blog and out into the world. But sadly, they are locked up inside of me until I can find an amazing designer like, Girly Blog Designz, to help me create my dream blog.
So you see, I need you, my blog needs you and the blog world needs you to help me design my spectacular blog!

This is so exciting. I just happened to stumble on this beautiful site by accident and so happy that I did…your designs are the cutest and most creative Ive seen.
I have been a SAHM for the last 5yrs with my son and now that he is in Kindergarten I want to start a blog that can inspire and enrich the lives of others/moms…but at the same time…it has been so long since I have done something just for myself. And BOY, do I need this opportunity. I have so many wonderful ideas, a teaching degree, a scrapbooking and writing background but just havent had the time to “get the ball rolling” so to speak, lol.
THis would be a dream for me…something I could call my own and go from a SAHM to a WAHM.
Last…in this tough economic time…my husband will soon be layed off his job, as he is employed in the auto industry and this would just be a gift for my whole family.
Thanks so much…. :)

Why I’d love to win this giveaway:
1. My site is self hosted but I don’t know diddly about WP. PHP, CSS, etc are all way over my head. So I’d love your WP theme so that I wouldn’t have to try to learn that stuff. I’ve tried. I’ve bought the books but every time I opened one to learn this stuff I kept falling asleep!
2. I’m using a free theme now that is supposed to be feminine but it’s not really me and doesn’t feel very feminine to me. I don’t want a canned theme that everyone else out there has!
3. I’m a SAHM to 4 kids (two of them twins) that designs jewelry but I don’t ever sell it and I need to. I don’t have the time to do craft shows etc. with 4 children. So I need to be able to sell from my site and blog about it. I’ve had my web site for years but haven’t done anything with it. So I need to be able to blog about my designs and inspirations. Which is tough for me as I tend to not be verbose. I also really need to contribute to the family income rather than take away from it!
4. Most importantly, I want a blog design by a woman made for a woman. I really WANT you to do it because your designs are simply exquisite! Even if I don’t win I’d still like to hire you and glad I found your site. I like women empowering women.

Hi Heather!!!
Thanks so much for this amazing offer! I am starting a business called “My Humane Planet” that will include an array of resources, products, recommendations, recipes, etc, that all promote and keep the earth and it’s inhabitants healthy, happy and humanely treated. I would be honored to have your help and magic touch in the design aspect!
-a generous portion of the proceeds generated from the site will be donated to various humane groups.
-I’m creating this site because I feel there is a need for alternatives to mainstream products and clothing, for people who care about the Earth and animals but still wish to live a modern lifestyle. I think Oprah said it best, and the motto of the site will be, “how we treat the least beings among us, determines our humanity”
-I also want to promote products that are not only better in in all ways for the environment, but work ten times better than traditional mainstream products.
In addition to all of the other applicants, I absolutely LOVE your designs and definitely want an inviting and friendly feeling associated with my blog, who wouldn’t?!
Lastly, I moved back home to live with my parents to save money while I put this project together, and having the financial assistance would help me out a great deal and mean the world to me!
Thank You for your consideration!!!

I am entering your contest in hopes there is a small chance that we may win. Our company was founded by myself and my good friend Monique. We are both stay at home moms with a love for baking.
Charis Creations features Gourmet Gluten Free and Dairy Free (and some Vegan too) baked goods, recipes, gift baskets and more. We can’t wait to touch the lives of those we serve. Monique and I created our company because we know how hard it is to “suffer” through a food allergy. It involves constant label checking and trial and error tastings. We wanted to help eliminate that process for others as much as possible by providing people with a one stop shop for products. From resourceful information such as health facts, to recipes and video tutorials, we hope to touch on every aspect of that lifestyle change that so many people are reluctant to make!
Our site is not about us, it’s about others and our main goal is to serve our visitors and customers in the best possible way. By upgrading our blog to a Wordpress site, we feel we would be able to offer to others what we are lacking now and bless as many people as we can in the process.
Thank you for your consideration!

I just came across your site (well, actually, the universe just aligned and I found you!) - I have been working on web design all by myself. When I first started teaching elementary school I developed my own site on Microsoft Frontpage - you can check it out at http://www.mrsyemmasclassroom.com. I have now switched careers and I am a Holistic Health Counselor. I help women who struggle with low energy achieve more confidence with cooking delicious, nutritious whole foods and putting themselves first without guilt! I am also a superfoods educator, writer and teacher.
I spent all summer designing my website on my mac and then I found out from a friend, well, this is what he said:
Your website should be filled with more text not just images that have text. Search Engine spyders read text and “image tags” aka an alt tag.
This would increase your SEO (Search Engine Marketability) &
Increase loading speeds.
You should meta tag your website with a title, description and keywords.
This will help increase traffic.
Some of your pages have errors on them. Some pages froze my computer a few times. This may scare away potential clients and visitors. (See the bottom right of your browser for error message)
So when I was told this I felt the stress on my shoulders BIG TIME! I have been spending a lot of time on my website which is not allowing me to get out and run my business - which is educating and supporting women/moms/families/teachers on how to love healthy foods and healthy living.
I have been looking at wordpress a lot lately and would love to have my website have the errors discussed above be corrected. I love designing my site, but I am not a website designer and don’t understand what the errors even mean.
My business mainly comes from the internet and having a website that shows up on any browser would be WONDERFUL! I can’t do it all on my own…I need to outsource, so I’m thrilled that I was guided here to you!
Yay! :)
Oh, and I have a host at dreamhost.com and they are set up to switch over to Wordpress. And, I really dislike that my site is http://www.santeliving.com but it gets redirected to another long name - drives me nuts!! lol.
